Prevention

There have been reports about all these threats not only in Malaysia, but also throughout the world. But with a few preventive measures, you could actually prevent this all from happening.

10 Security Steps:

1.
Ensure that you login to our official site
Ensure you login to Hong Leong Online Internet Banking
through http://www.hlb.com.my
Check that your security picture matches the picture that you have chosen.
Make sure the padlock sign is on the bottom right corner of the website before doing a transaction.
Retrieve the digital certificate by clicking the padlock sign.

2.
Choose passwords that are hard to guess. Avoid using passwords that are:

The same as your User Name

qwerty1, asdf123)
Closely related to you (e.g. birthplace, date of birth, spouse’s name)
A dictionary word (i.e. words that can be found in the
dictionary)

3. Never reveal your User Name and Password via E-mail or SMS

The bank will NEVER ask you to reveal your User Name and Password through e-mail or by phone or by SMS.
If you have received an e-mail or SMS from the bank
requesting for your User Name and Password, there is a
possibility that is a phishing <hyperlink to the contents>
attack. Do not respond to it and report it to the bank
immediately.
